The Deal: Dirt Leaves Benson, Goes to Fairgrounds

CANTON, Ohio (1480 WHBC) (Sept. 21, 2016) – All that soil coming out of Tom Benson Stadium as part of the renovation project is not going far away.

Per an agreement OK’d by Stark County commissioners on Wednesday, Beaver Excavating is making the quality fill dirt available to the county fairgrounds.

The 38,000 cubic yards of dirt being removed will go mainly on the infield of the racetrack.

Per the agreement, savings on transportation costs will be placed in escrow and supplied to the fairgrounds to help spread the dirt.
