The Morning Show with Fred and Pam

Welcome to the News -Talk 1480 WHBC website!  I’m glad you stopped by to find out more about us.

I’ve been with WHBC since February of 1989.  WOW!  Where has the time gone.  I am the AM program director, news director and morning show co-host.

Fred and I have a great time trying to get you up and goign each morning.  A lot of people ask me how I can be so cheery that early.   It’s a lot of coffee and good breakfast food!

When I’m not at the radio station, I am usually following one of my sons' sports teams.  My oldest, Jordan, is at Capital University.  He is playing football for the Crusaders and is studying health and fitness management.  My younger son, Alex, is at Sandy Valley High School.  He plays football, basketball and baseball,  So I am very busy.  I love every minute of it!

And as many of you know I am a DIE-HARD Pittsburgh Steeler fan (SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!).  Born and raised in the 'Burg makes you that way!  I know this is Brown’s country and that’s okay.  I’ve lived in Ohio for more than 25 years, and I've learned to take the abuse!

I hope you will check out The Morning Show, and News - Talk 1480 WHBC for its great news, sports and information.  There’s no place like it!

Steelers fans pull out winningest rituals

By Rege Behe TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, February 1, 2009

For some fans, a litany of superstitions and practices are necessary.
Pam Cook, 46, a Green Tree native who lives in Canton, Ohio,
has a long list of things she must do, including:

• Cooking dinner in a Steelers crockpot.

• Texting her best friend "Happy Game Day" promptly at noon.

• Making sure her cat is napping upstairs, not downstairs.

• Drinking a beer only after the Steelers score
and only in a special Coors Light Super Bowl glass.

But Cook's biggest superstition involves her artificial Christmas tree
decorated with Steelers ornaments. It stays up until the Steelers' final game.

"I love it when the tree burns brightly in my living room in February," Cook said.
"I would never ever take it down before (the last game) or it would jinx them."
