NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio (WHBC) – The former Newcomerstown police officer who concocted a story about being shot during a traffic stop will spend three months in jail.

That’s the sentence for 38-year-old Bryan Eubanks in Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court, after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and another charge.

Eubanks set off a statewide search for a shooting suspect last April, later admitting that he had shot himself in a failed suicide attempt.

Eubanks claims he has no memory of what happened that day.
