CANTON, Ohio (WHBC) – Giving to others for the season of Lent meant a collection of towels, undergarments and socks by the employees of Mercy Medical Center.

A van load of those items was taken to the Salvation Army’s hot shower program this week.

The downtown facility offers showers to the homeless.

The hospital also hopes to assist the program with the purchase of a new washer and dryer.
