With just hours remaining until tip off of game 4 of the Eastern conference semi-finals (and a possible Cleveland sweep), the coaching carousel is back in action.  Late last week the New York Knicks hired former Memphis HC David Fizdale.  Not to outdone, the Detroit Pistons have parted ways with their HC & team President Stan Van Gundy.  Although it had been reported that Van Gundy wanted to return for the final season of his five year deal, owner Tom Gores (Pistons owner) stated that “finding new management was necessary.”

Van Gundy led the Pistons to a 152-176 record in 4 seasons, making the playoffs only once during his tenure with the team.
