3 More Tornadoes Hit SW Ohio

WILMINGTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The same weather system that brought heavy rain to our area on Friday spawned three more tornadoes in southwest Ohio.

These three in Highland and Clermont Counties, east of Cincinnati.

The strongest twister of the three was an EF-1 which tore the roof off a church and removed an attached garage from a house in a rural area of Highland County.

It was a strong low pressure system that produced the severe weather: Cincinnati’s airport recorded aa extremely low barometric pressure of 28.84 inches, second only to the Blizzard of 1978.

There was also a lot of rain: 2.7 inches in Dayton.

There were three other weaker twisters that hit southwest and central Ohio last Monday.
