The wife of a Raleigh man who was killed in a freak accident on an Oak Island Beach has found a way for her husband’s legacy to live on.
Shannon Dingle, whose husband, Lee Dingle, was killed last week when a wave broke his neck, has donated the 37-year-old man’s organs to help others. According to Carolina Donor Services, they’re expected to save four lives, restore sight to one person and ultimately help 55 others.
Lee Dingle was playing with his children on the beach when a wave swept the shoreline, pushing his head into the sand and breaking his neck. The fracture caused his throat to swell and he suffocated to death
