COLUMBUS, Ohio (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – New research from AAA indicates there’s a long way to go when it comes to vehicle systems that detect pedestrians.

In general, the systems are completely ineffective at night and when traveling over 30 miles an hour.

The rest of the time, the results are sketchy, at best.

That has AAA reminding us to continue to watch for pedestrians, as if the systems don’t work.

132 pedestrians were killed on Ohio’s highways in 2018.
