Akron High School Principal Accused of Hitting Student

AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – An Akron Public Schools Principal is on administrative leave after admitting to slapping a student in the face.

Police say East Community Learning Center Principal Vyrone Finney told them he was simply “not in the mood” to be called the obscenities a 15 year old student called him on September 20. Finney reportedly slapped the student in the face with an open hand.

The two then had to be broken up before the boy left the school. The student declined to press charges. Akron Public Schools released a statement today saying they are continuing to investigate the situation.
