Akron Teen Charged After Admitting to Starting House Fire

AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A 15 year old boy has been arrested in connection to the Akron fire that took place earlier this morning in the North Hill neighborhood on Cranz Place.
Akron Police Chief David Laughlin says the suspect, who lives in the home with his grandfather, admitted to officers that he started the fire.
The boy faces arson and attempted murder charges. His grandfather was taken to the hospital. Laughlin says he is in serious condition. A dog also perished in the blaze. Police are still investigating.
