Amber Alert Result: Child OK, Non-Custodial Dad Shot Dead

BRUNSWICK, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A seven-year-old girl is safe but her non-custodial biological father is dead, culminating an Amber Alert issued out of Jefferson County Monday afternoon.
Law enforcement eventually zeroed in on a U-Haul truck which they were able to pull over in an Arby’s parking lot in Brunswick in Medina County.
They were able to retrieve the youngster, but police say they were unable to negotiate with 47-year-old Charles Alexander.
He was killed in a shootout with police.
The youngster is back home with her mother.
At some point, Alexander abandoned the pickup truck he was driving and got behind the wheel of the U-Haul truck.
