Elizabeth Vargas is a hard-hitting journalist known for anchoring live, breaking news including Hurricane Katrina’s devastation and Emmy-winning coverage of the Elian Gonzalez case.In 2016, she went public with her struggle with alcoholism, anxiety, and recovery on a special edition of 20/20.

At the event, to be held Sept 12 at the Canton Palace Theatre, Vargas will discuss her bestselling memoir, Between the Breaths, whichdetails her downward spiral, the high cost of her addiction, and her eventual recovery with honesty and vulnerability. It was a winner of the Books for a Better Life Award in the First Book category and an instant New York Times and USA Today Bestseller.
