Aultman: 2 Recent Legionella Bacteria Positives at Alliance Community

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A couple of recent positive cases for the legionella bacteria in patients at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.
The Aultman Health System says the two patients were from Stark and Columbiana Counties, and had no known connection to one another.
In either case, it’s not certain where or how the exposure to legionella occurred.
Aultman says it is taking proactive steps with its water system, as a precaution.
They are putting in new water filters, collecting samples for testing, and using more bottled water.
The Alliance and Ohio Health Departments are investigating.
They say there’s no risk to the Alliance community.
