(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – Make it $44 million now that an Oberlin bakery and its owners with local ties are expecting to receive after a verdict went against Oberlin College last week.
Gibson’s Bakery co-owner David Gibson says the libel suit was about keeping a good reputation.
Brother Rick Gibson is from North Canton.
The company sued when the college continued to support student groups who accused the family of racism, even after three black students pleaded guilty to theft charges in an incident at the store.
Two Canton law firms represented the owners of the bakery.
The school is expected to appeal.
