The American League defeated the National League 4-3 in the 90th Major League Baseball All-Star game in Cleveland on Tuesday night.  It’s the seventh straight win for the A.L. in the Midsummer Classic!

Indians pitcher Shane Bieber making his first ever All-Star appearance, struck out the side in the fifth inning and was named the game’s MVP!

The last time the All-Star game was played in Cleveland was 1997 and in that game, a 3-1 win by the American League, another Indian, Sandy Alamar was named the game’s MVP.

Bieber‘s Cleveland teammates didn’t fare as well as he did as Carlos Santana started at first base and went 0-3, Francisco Lindor came off the bench and was 0-2, while Brad Hand gave up 2 runs in his only inning of work.

Former Indian Michael Brantley, who now plays for the Houston Astros, started in the left field and doubled in his only at bat driving in the first run of the game.

Outfielder Joey Gallo of the Texas Rangers gets credit for the game winning rbi thanks to his solo homer in the seventh inning.

Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon went yard for the National League, a solo shot in the sixth.

Masahiro Tanaka of the Yankees was credited with the win and his New York teammate, closer Aroldis Chapman picked up the save.

Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw took the loss.
