HUDSON, Ohio (News Talk 14890 WHBC) – It serves as a reminder about the unpredictability of lake-effect snow.

A blinding snowburst on Route 8 late Tuesday morning led to an 85-car pileup between the Seasons Road and Route 303 exits, according to the city of Hudson.

Five people had minor injuries and the road was closed for several hours.

There was a similar 50-car pileup on I-80 near Youngstown, also blamed on the wind and snow.

That roadway didn’t fully reopen until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

There was also a big crash on I-80 in Mercer County Pennsylvania Tuesday night that sent drivers of cars crushed by tractor trailer rigs to local motels for the night.
