Canadian Firm Buys Dominion Energy’s Ohio Subsidiary

CLEVELAND, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – There’s new ownership for the natural gas utility that serves parts of Stark, Summit and Portage Counties, and the name may be familiar.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based Enbridge has purchased Dominion Energy Ohio and two other Dominion subsidiaries from the parent company based in Richmond Virginia.

Enbridge is part owner of the NEXUS gas pipeline that goes through Stark and other local counties.

No word on if the Ohio subsidiary will change its name to “Enbridge”.

1500 Dominion Energy Ohio employees are reportedly protected by a two-year job protection program.
