Canton Council Awards Large Raises to Key City Staffers

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Top administrators under Mayor Tom Bernabei who are staying on when Mayor-elect Bill Sherer takes the oath.

They are getting some nice raises.

The Repository says the economic development director will get an 18-percent increase in pay.

This, while the safety and service directors are seeing 16-percent increases.

The finance director will see a 10-percent boost in pay… On top of that, all four are getting the three-percent increase that all non-union and many union employees are getting.

The mayor had said last week that the administrators were underpaid.

Also, the clerk of council will see her pay pushed 17-percent higher.
