Canton Man Arrested After Shooting Neighbor with Pellet Gun

CANTON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A Canton man was arrested yesterday after shooting his neighbor with a pellet gun. Officers say 40 year old Jeffery Burgess has a history of terrorizing the victim.
He was convicted last summer of aggravated menacing and was court-ordered to stay away from her. Records show he went to her home earlier this year and pointed a 12 gauge shotgun at her.
Yesterday, he returned to the victim’s residence with a pellet gun. Burgess shot the woman six or seven times. She required medical treatment for her injuries. Burgess was arrested at the scene and remains in jail.
