Canton Tightens Curfew for Two DORA Areas

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Canton City Council moved quickly the other night to expand the city’s curfew.

The new ordinance makes it illegal for those under 18 to be in the city’s two Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas after 9 p.m.

The ordinance was given a first, second and third reading and takes effect in a month.

Nine council members voted in favor and two abstained.

It applies only to teens not accompanied by a parent or not working in the “DORA”.

A group of teens has reportedly caused problems at a recent First Friday event.

There’s also a DORA at the Hall of Fame Village.
