SEPT 11th: CFD Observes 9-11 in Canton

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The 6th annual Canton Fire Department 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb at the McKinley Monument, Wednesday morning, the anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks.

Firefighters and others: replicating the FDNY climbing up the former 110-story World Trade Center towers starting at 8:46 a.m., the time the first plane crashed into the North Tower.

Organizer Chris Snyder with the Canton Fire Department says they keep getting more high school students involved every year.

Like Lake High legal studies students, because, incredible to most of us, they weren’t with us on that fateful day.

Snyder says it’s the responsibility of adults to teach children about September 11th, so that the words “we will never forget” have real meaning.
