Charlie Hustle Passes Away at 83 (Recent Photos Inside)
The baseball world lost a legend. Baseball’s all time hits leader Pete Rose passed away at the age of 83 yesterday. He was just recently seen at several card collectors events, including the National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland at the I-X Center this past July (see photos below with Reggie Jackson).
His friends and family say he died peacefully. No word on a cause. Rose will be remembered as the kingpin of the Big Red Machine and winner of two World Series with the Cincinnati Reds in 1975 and 1976 – he won a total of 3.
He broke Ty Cobb’s all-time hits record in 1985 and finished with a still MLB record 4,256 hits. He is still not in the baseball hall of fame because he bet on baseball. Some believe that may change now that he’s passed away.
