City of Green has new “Green Alerts”

GREEN (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – You’ve probably heard of red alert but are you familiar with Green alerts? If you are a resident of the city of Green, you should be. The City of Green fire division is switching service providers for its emergency alert system. They are asking all residents to take to minutes to both update their contact information and enroll for the alerts.

The types of alerts you will receive include:
  • Severe weather alerts
  • Emergency notification
  • Critical community information (temporary road closures, etc.)
  • Additional community updates
  • SPORTS parents: sign up for field closures

The City says citizens can enroll online in three different ways.

  1. Online. Register.
  2. Text GREENOH to 99-411. Once you receive a reply text from this number, follow the link to complete your registration.
  3. By phone. Call our non-emergency dispatch number 330-896-6610 and our dispatchers will assist you in registering.
