COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The man convicted of killing two Westerville Ohio police officers, one of them from Massillon, has been spared the death penalty.

The jury in the penalty phase of the Quentin Smith aggravated murder trial could not agree on recommending a death sentence, so he will formally be sentenced to life in prison in two weeks.

He killed Officer Tony Morelli and another officer back in February of last year.
