(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – Canton police with the help of a Stark County Humane Society agent removed a dozen cats and dogs from a home in the 2300 block of 9th Street NW on Sunday.

A 16-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy living in the filth were turned over to another family member, according to the police report.

There were reportedly three other children living in the house.

The children’s mother had called police about a theft from the house when police observed the animal issue.
