CPD Officer to Face Disciplinary Hearing

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The city police officer who kicked a man in the chest while he was cooperating during an arrest now faces a disciplinary hearing before Canton Safety Director Andrea Perry.

The internal review of the matter indicates that Officer Brandon Momirov committed the most serious violation of the department’s rules.

It’s not known what sort of disciplinary measures will be considered.

The officer kicked the suspect as they arrested four people on Morris Avenue NE nearly two weeks ago after getting a call about a large fight.

Arriving officers did observe a gun at the scene.

Chief John Gabbard in a statement says that the conduct is unacceptable.
