(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – CANTON, Ohio – The city of Canton is taking a step up with its technology on the streets.
Police will soon be using the Wi-Fiber system, which allows officers to locate gunfire and even see license plates on a wireless network using audio and video detection devices.
They can set up at 11 to 15 different intersections in the city.
The current ShotSpotter system only detects gunshot audio.
And at a startup cost is $180,000 and $60,000 annually, it’s less than ShotSpotter.
