ELECTION 2024: Reinbold Challenges Stone for Prosecutor’s Job

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Longtime Stark County prosecutor and common pleas judge Richard Reinbold is challenging Republican Prosecutor Kyle Stone for the top law enforcement job in the county.

Reinbold says Stone is not working with local police and city prosecutors to directly present the most serious cases to a grand jury.

He says that delays a case for two to three weeks.

He says he’ll put together a direct presentment team.

Stone counters that violent crime over his four years in office is down because he generally does not negotiate gun specifications when it comes to plea deals.

He says he’s saved money by doing the work of the former “chief counsel” position.

Stone says his goal is to attack rising domestic violence numbers.

Early In-Person Voting is underway from now through November 3 at the Stark County Board of Elections.
