ELECTION 2024: Sheriff Maier Loses in Republican Groundswell

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – It was another Republican wave that swept over Stark County this Election cycle.

And it took Democratic Sheriff George Maier with it.

The county’s longtime top lawman lost by over 6000 votes to former Stark County Sheriff’s Lt Eric Weisburn, now retired.

Other Republican county officeholders easily held on to their seats.
