(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Tuscarawas River at Massillon.

The warning goes until 1 p.m. Wednesday

On Tuesday morning the stage was 13.6 feet.

Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

The river will rise above flood stage by late Tuesday morning and rise to
near 14.7 feet by Tuesday evening.

At 14 feet, flooding begins in the Agathon Park area.

Flood waters may force the closings of two railroad crossings in Massillon.

The river will fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.

Minor flooding is expected.

A flood warning also continues for Nimishillen Creek near North Industry.

Remember, never try to drive through floodwaters.

You hear it all the time from safety officials and it rings true, “turn around don’t drown”.
