Foodbank Kicks Off 33rd ‘Harvest for Hunger’

AKRON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank kicked off its 33rd Harvest for Hunger campaign on Friday.

They have a goal of providing 4.2 million meals for people, whether that’s supplied via cash or food donations.

The foodbank says there was a 21-percent increase in the number of people seeking food assistance last year in the eight counties.

The campaign is led by co-chairs Mark Sterling, CEO of Beaver Constructors, Inc. and Laura Duda, senior vice president and chief communications officer at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
