Former Deputy Serving Jail Time on Theft Conviction

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A former Stark County sheriff’s deputy is doing ten days in jail for stealing $15,000 from the union where he was reportedly the treasurer at the time.

43-year-old Thomas Davisson of Barberton pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor theft charge.

He had been charged with felony grand theft.

Davisson was then fired Thursday by the sheriff’s office.

The money was taken from the Stark County Deputies Association in early 2022.

Court documents indicate he has paid the money back.
