EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – New and more thorough testing of the municipal water system in East Palestine show the water is free from any contaminants, according to the Ohio EPA.
Untreated water from each of the five wells that provide water to the village was tested.
They are all about a mile from the train derailment scene.
The governor’s office in a release says the five wells are 56 feet below the surface and covered by a solid steel casing.
The governor’s release suggests having private water wells tested, as they are more shallow than the village’s wells.
