Governor Signs Bill Putting AEDs in Schools, Athletic Facilities

COLUMBUS, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Once the new law takes effect in a few months, all public and charter schools in Ohio will be required to have automated external defibrillators in their buildings.

Governor Mike DeWine signed the bill on Tuesday.

All municipally-owned sports and recreation venues are also required to have them.

AEDs have been credited for saving lives during cardiac emergencies.
