Grand Jury With ‘No Bill’ in Death of Zachary Fornash

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A session of the Stark County grand jury last week declined to indict a Canton police officer involved in a deadly shooting, so Officer Garrett Marino will not be facing any charges.

Last December, the officer fired shots at 24-year-old Zachary Fornash, killing him.

The call came in as an armed man walking along Alan Page Drive SE.

That’s near where Fornash lived.

It was later learned that Fornash’s weapon was a pellet gun.

The Stark County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the grand jury’s decision.

Frustration expressed by some in the audience at the Canton City Council meeting Friday night.
