Green State Rep Indicted on Misdemeanor Charges, No Felonies

AKRON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – State Representative Bob Young of Green has been indicted on two misdemeanor charges of assault and domestic violence.

It means he no longer faces a felony ‘disrupting public service’ charge for allegedly throwing a 9-1-1 caller’s phone into a swimming pool.

It means Young no longer faces the possibility of losing his seat in the House.

Young gave a statement to the Beacon Journal, saying his behavior was “inappropriate”, but “not criminal”.

He says he “acted poorly”.

He also says he has entered a counseling program.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office report indicates he slapped a woman and charged a man two weeks ago in Green.

Both victims were family members.
