Guardians Clinch Playoff Spot, Going For Division Title Next
Thanks to a 3-2 walk off win at Progressive Field in 10 innings on Thursday the Cleveland Guardians have secured a spot in the 2024 MLB Postseason.
The victory assures the Guards of at least an American League Wild Card spot.
Currently Cleveland is in first place in the A.L. Central Division and the team’s “Magic Number” to secure the Division title is down to 3 with 8 games remaining. So any combinations of a Guardians win or Kansas City Royals loss would reduce the “Magic Number”.
By winning the Division, the Guardians could grab 1 of the 2 top spots in the American League playoffs and avoid playing in the first round of the playoffs in the Wild Card round.
Cleveland travels to St Louis tonight to open up a 3-game series with the Cardinals.

2024 POSTSEASON TICKETS PUBLIC ONSALE
American League Wild Card and/or Divisional Round tickets will be available to the general public on Tuesday, September 24 at 10AM ET
Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Guardians today announced that 2024 Postseason tickets for the American League Wild Card Series (if needed) and Divisional Series will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, September 24 at 10:00AM ET at CLEGuardians.com/tickets.
The Guardians have the potential to host either a 2024 Wild Card Round – a best-of-three series that will take place solely at Progressive Field – or have a bye directly to the 2024 American League Division Series, in which Cleveland will have homefield advantage.
The Postseason ticket onsale will be conducted only online at CLEGuardians.com/tickets. Ticket purchasers will be limited to six (6) tickets per available game and ticket management will be delayed until closer to Postseason game dates. All tickets will be delivered in digital form.
Season Ticket Members are granted early access to Postseason tickets and are the only ticketholders guaranteed access to future Postseason rounds. Fans interested in future Season Ticket plans can call 216-420-HITS.

- Single-game Postseason tickets must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
- For any un-played games, single-game purchasers will be automatically refunded the ticket price (excluding online order fee).
