Cleveland Indians third baseman Manny Ramirez will not return to the team before the end of the regular season.

After suffering a break in the hamate bone of his right wrist, Ramirez underwent surgery yesterday to remove the bone, and the prognosis is that he will be out 5-7 weeks before resuming game activity.

With the regular season ending September 29th, the best hope is he’ll be available later in a post-season run.
