KIRK SCHURING 1952-2024: Jim Porter Talks About His Friend

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Pro Football Hall of Fame President and former Repository Publisher and CEO Jim Porter met Kirk Schuring before he gained those titles.
Schuring was a customer at the t-shirt shop Porter and his wife owned.
They became close friends, and Porter says he was able to visit with Schuring shortly before he passed away last Thursday night.
Porter says when he thinks of his friend, he also thinks of the late Congressman Ralph Regula, both leaving behind legacies for the community that will endure for generations.
Porter says Schuring loved the Repository news paper.
His only complaint was when it wasn’t on his porch step when he stepped outside in the morning.
