KIRK SCHURING 1952-2024: More on State Senator, Plans in Stark, Columbus

JACKSON TWP., Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – We know a bit more about the health issues Kirk Schuring was dealing with, after the State Senator died last Thursday night.

He had pancreatic cancer, and had been dealing with other health issues over the last four years.

He was in hospice care when he passed away at home.

He was also reportedly bitten by a brown recluse spider at some point.

A public memorial service for Kirk Schuring takes place Tuesday December 3 at 2 p.m. at the Statehouse.

His body will lie in state starting at 10 a.m. that day.

Back home, calling hours are the next day, Wednesday the 4th at the Kent State Stark Conference Center.

With services on Thursday the 5th at the Old Stone Chapel on West Tusc in downtown Canton.

Flags on public buildings in the county should remain at half-staff through sunset on Thursday December 5.

Kirk Schuring was 72.
