Louisville Police Detective Tracks Down New Jersey Man in Local Ripoff

LOUISVILLE, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A New Jersey man is in the Stark County jail on $200,000 bond.

He is accused of ripping off a Louisville couple, and is possibly tied to a number of similar burglaries around the country.

50-year-old Mikhail Vygodner was arrested by police in Old Bridge New Jersey south of New York City.

This, after a Louisville police detective identified him as the man who posed as a bail bondsman at the elderly couple’s home.

Police say he claimed they needed to fork over $5500 to get their son out of jail.

That was said to be the man and woman’s life savings.

Vygodner is charged with ‘theft from a person in a protected class’.

State and federal law enforcement are now working the rest of the investigation, which spans six states, possibly involving millions of dollars
