Man Arrested After Leading Police on Car Chase

PERRY TOWNSHIP (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A man who stole a car in Jackson Township was arrested last night in Perry Township after leading officers on a multi-agency police chase. 34 year old Shawn Smarsh is behind bars.

Officers say they began chasing him in a vehicle that was reported stolen after he refused to stop for Jackson Township police. The chase came to an end when On-Star employees were notified about the stolen vehicle and slowed it to a stop.

Perry Township police found the car. They then found Smarsh shortly after. Records show Police also seized a crack pipe and a jar containing $350 that were both in his possession.
