Man Jumps Off Bridge After Two-County Police Pursuit

MINERVA, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A wild two-county police pursuit Thursday ended at Routes 44 and 62 in Osnaburg Township with a 36-year-old Malvern man jumping off the Route 44 bridge.

He’s hospitalized in Akron.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says the chase was initiated when they observed Thomas Snyder on Alliance Road near Minerva.

They had gotten a 911 call from a woman claiming she was assaulted by the man.

Snyder was stopped on East Line Street in Minerva, but failed to comply with police after nearly an hour of negotiating.

From there he hit Route 30, flying through East Canton and Louisville before jumping off the bridge.

His condition is not known.
