Mayor: Town Halls ‘Postponed’, Not ‘Canceled’

CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – More information on the cancellation of the remainder of the city of Canton’s Town Hall Workshops, including two that had been planned for this month.

Mayor Bill Sherer says the day after the raucous city council meeting on September 23, Malone University contacted him with concerns about hosting the event.

While the first two town halls were held on city property, the last three were set for private or Canton City School property.

Sherer insists the town halls have been postponed, not permanently canceled.

In fact, Sherer says he is still hitting neighborhood association meetings.
