Memorial Walk/Run Planned to Remember Tusky Valley Bus Crash Victims this Weekend

One year ago today (Thursday) the Tusky Valley Community was shaken to its core as a bus carrying band students crashed on its way to Columbus.  Three students were killed along with a teacher and two chaperones who were in vehicles following behind.

The community is holding a memorial walk – The Stand with the Band Memorial Walk and Run – on Sunday at the Tusky Valley High School Stadium.  It will last 6 hours representing the six victims of the crash.  The stadium is located off Route 212 near Zoarville.  It will run from Noon until 6pm.  The public is encouraged to attend.  They will be accepting donations for the memorial scholarship fund as well.

The students and chaperones were on their way to an Ohio School Boards Association conference in Columbus. The high school band was scheduled to perform at the conference.
