SUGARCREEK, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Fire departments from numerous counties were called to the scene of a large fire at the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market earlier this morning.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. at 1900 SR-39. Sugarcreek Fire Chief Dr. Kevin Miller says the roof collapsed before firefighters arrived on scene.

Crews from five counties had the fire knocked out just before 7 a.m. No one was hurt. Officials say the biggest obstacle was getting water to the scene because there are no hydrants in the area.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Miller says he estimates about 50% of the building is a total loss.
