No Budget Deal in Columbus – now what?

Lawmakers in Columbus apparently need more time to pass a new 2-year budget.  The deadline officially is today (Sunday).  But after a weeks worth of negotiations on hundreds of differences in the house and senate measures — they have approved a 17-day extension.  The Governor will need to review the final package and sign it.  There is a chance he could line item veto some portion of the bill.  Governor Mike Dewine has issued a statement:

“The legislature has an obligation to keep our government funded and operating. Both houses passed proposals that share the priorities of my executive budget proposal, and they passed them by overwhelming, bipartisan majorities. I urge the conference committee to continue negotiations and pass a budget promptly.
