Norfolk Southern Agrees to Participate in Pilot Safety Program, President Coming

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – As we approach the one-year anniversary of the East Palestine train derailment this weekend, and with a presidential visit, Norfolk Southern has signed on with a pilot federal program.
The program allows engineers and conductors to report safety concerns anonymously.
The Federal Railroad Administration calls it a “breakthrough”.
The pilot program is for members of two of the railroad’s unions working out of three locations in Atlanta, Elkhart, Indiana and Roanoke Virginia.
President Biden is to visit East Palestine sometime next month, his first visit since the derailment.
