North Canton Landlord Registration Deadline on Tuesday

NORTH CANTON, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – There’s an impending deadline for North Canton landlords.

Those with eight or fewer rental units in a building must register those facilities with the city by January 31.

That’s so they can be certified for rental.

Registration can be done online.

Director of Administration Patrick Deorio says there have been “life issues” with some rental units.

He points to non-working smoke and CO detectors, faulty furnaces and more.

A company hired by the city will inspect the units.

If all is good, a certificate lasts three years.

Single family homes also fall under the new requirements.
