Northbound Ramp Bridge Still Closed at 8/271

MACEDONIA, Ohio (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Progress at the Route 8/Interstate-271 interchange, but there’s still a lot going on.
The Southbound I-271 ramp to Route 8 South reopened with one lane early Tuesday afternoon, though the Northbound ramp remains closed for further inspection.
Justin Chesnic with ODOT says another consultant was brought in to look at the scorched northbound ramps.
Chesnic is not saying when that might reopen.
Contaminated soil is being hauled away using the reopened ramp.
That’s why just one lane of that southbound ramp is available.
Repairs are also being done on the fire-damaged Route 8 bridge over nearby Brandywine Creek.
That’s evidence of how quickly the fire spread from that diesel truck crash on Saturday.
